Euphoric Procrastination!

Today, I procrastinate.  Though I should be studying for my psychology final, I'm in bed with the chickenpox.  Fantastic, right? Yeahh.. Not entirely. Anyways, I figured that the pictures I have up right now aren't quite up to par.  In other words, not my best work. I'm going to attempt to change that though. :)

Week Nine of the Photo Journal- A Day of Lightning

Elaine Horton, 19, from Monmouth has 13 horses that she takes care of at her family's barn in Monmouth.  Elaine's favorite horse to ride and work with is Lightning, an 11yr old paint horse.  First on the roster, his owner Elaine Horton, 19, has to get her favorite pair of spurs on.  After taking care of her own feet, Elaine has to take care of Lightning's hooves.   Once the grooming has been done she can now saddle up!  After some lunging and warm up for Lightning, Elaine can move on to her favorite part of riding--sliding!  After 20 rides around the arena and about 15 sliding stops, both horse and rider decide it's time for a bath--A bath for Lightning that is!  After a long day of grooming, riding, and bathing, Elaine and lighting can retire to the confines of their rooms...Or in Lightning's case, a stall.

My Neighborhood, Downtown Albany

The Pix Theatre, on 2nd st in downtown Albany, is a great place to take the kids to see a movie or even have date night. The building where the Pix is located, now, was built in 1892, but it wasn't until the late 1960's that it was actually the Pix Theatre.
Tiffany Sewell, owner of Blush Salon and Spa on 1st Avenue in Albany, stands in front of her salon's "color bar." Tiffany told me the color bar is the thing she's most proud of when it comes to Blush Salon and Spa. Blush Salon and Spa has been up and running for about 2 years now and it's a great little place.
Cynthia Kapple, founder of Midway Farms in Albany, hands devoted Farmer's Market regular, Lavinia Ross, her receipt at Albany's weekly Farmer's Market.  Cynthia Kapple runs the Community Table stand every Saturday morning and says her favorite part about it is supplying fresh fruits, vegetables, and cheeses for people.
